Rentokil Initial Gave Talks to 53 Schools in Klang Valley on Hygiene and Dengue Awareness

Rentokil Initial Malaysia was recently invited to join effort with Quality Restroom Association Malaysia (QRAM) and related organisations in organising an informative programme at Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Hulu Langat (PPDHL). The objectives of the event were to equipped schools with educational information on ways to improve the quality of washroom standards and at the same time promote good hygiene practices and create dengue awareness among teachers and students.

Public Relations Chairman of QRAM started the programme with a speech and introduction of QRAM’s visions and commitments in increasing the standards of washrooms in Malaysia. Next on the agenda was a Proper Washroom Habits talk by representative of DOE group. The talk concluded with demonstrations of different washroom usages and behaviours. 

The programme continued with an informative Dengue Awareness Talk by Mr Loke Boon Eng, the Assistant Technical Manager from Rentokil Pest Control, highlighting the danger of Aedes mosquitoes and the prevention measures of Dengue fever. After that, students were taught the knowledge on the differentiation between clean and hygienic. Next, proper hand washing techniques were demonstrated and accentuated in the Personal Hygiene Awareness Talk by Ms Chandrika, Customer Care Executive from Initial Hygiene. 

Representative from Malaysia Environment Cleaning Science Sdn Bhd (MECSc) ends the programme with “Pengguna Bijak, Tandas Bersih, Tangungjawab Semua” talk. The topic focused on the correct ways of washroom cleaning and maintenance to lengthen washrooms durability. 

The students were very enthusiastic in taking part in fun and interactive activities such as quizzes and prizes were rewarded to those who answered the questions correctly. Hand sanitisers sponsored by Rentokil Initial Malaysia were also distributed to all students that attended the programme. 

This educational programme benefitted 53 schools in the Hulu Langat district, representative with 1 teacher and 2 students from each schools. 

Rentokil Initial Malaysia looks forward to conduct continuous CSR activities to contribute back to the society next year.
